I love this time of year...12 pints of End of the Season Pickles. This is new to me, but I had to find something to use up garden stuff (zuchinni spears, carrot spears, onions, green & red peppers in a yummy apple cidar vinegar juice) They sure smelled good while cooking.. AND 15 pints of homemade salsa...Was a good productive Saturday !!

Just a few new photos to share. Took a trip to Illinois and Iowa with my husband for his class reunion and took lots of pictures. It was nice and green but the humidity was high and not used to it at all. Was a cooler week that normal, and everyone kept saying that we brought the cooler weather from Idaho. I am certainly glad it was cooler.

Buffalo, Old Faithful and Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone Park on 5-15-2011...what more could you ask for? It was a beautiful sunny day and lots of animals. The grizzly bear was the coolest sighting ever, made our whole day !!

These are new additions to our family. We have had Zip, the cat, for a while now and about two weeks ago went and picked up our border collie / blue heelers puppies.

They are about 7 weeks old here and full of energy and growing !

I take the puppies for a walk in the snow and Zip follows along too, it is kind of funny !

Blizzard Warning !!

All these are taken from inside the house ! With 40 mph wind gusts and vertical snow, who wants to go outside? Not me. We are under a blizzard warning from the national weather service and I can tell you it is ugly outside ! Will make for some pretty pictures once the wind quits blowing, sometime tonight ! Then it is turning bitter cold for a while ! Daytime highs predicted to be 1 degree? Got'ta love Idaho winters !

Here are a few highlight photos from the Junior Rodeo's this season. It is really neat to watch the kids progress each year. I take pictures for three families and each of them have two kids. A lot of hard work and practice goes for June and July events, and don't forget the parents who get them to and from rodeo's ! High

Smoke in the Air . . .

There was a desert fire about 70 miles West of where we live tonight. On the six o'clock news they said around 15,000 acres burned. Heavy smoke was in the sky and made for some great picture taking. It was amazing that the smoke was way high in the sky and did not smell like smoke at all on the ground. It was also very dark because it was between us and the sun. Made for some great lighting to play around with my camera. I like the first picture of the Grand Teton Mountain, about 55 miles to the East of us, where the sun was shining on them, smoke in the sky and dark where I was taking the picture from. It is so fun !

**Update** the fire was reported to burn around 170 square miles ***

Barrel racing, pole bending, break-a-way roping and goat tying are a few of the events for the Idaho Junior Rodeo Association for girls and boys between ages 0 to 16. I have a couple of families that I take pictures of and seem to learn a few things here and there too...

Relay for Life

Went to my first Relay for Life event on Friday and was a moving experience to see those in our area who are survivors and those who are still fighting! Great event for awareness of cancer ! My blessings go out to all who have endured cancer and continue to fight back, they are an inspiration for all. . .

We have had LOTS of rain and now we have Flood Warnings on the rivers around us. All the rivers have reached their flood stages and more. The paper said some people are having to sandbag, so their property doesn't flood out. More pictures to come. . .

The big machine that crushes up the pavement so it can be mixed and put down again, was right outside our yard the other night because they are paving the main steet down through town. Was a pretty awesome machine.

In Memoriam of Gary Marc Farwell

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Gary Marc Farwell was on a routine training mission when their UH-60 Black Hawk crashed into the woods northeast of Mannheim, Germany on February 3, 2010. Gary and two other military personnel were killed in the helicopter crash. I met Gary and his family in October 2009 when they were home for family pictures, of which I was able to be a part of. Gary was laid to rest Saturday here in Idaho, and I was again honored to take pictures of a very emotional and moving ceremony with full military rights. Posted are a few pictures of the funeral service, but I wanted to respect the privacy of family.

I had the pleasure of photographing the Spaulding family with my daughter Rachel this past Saturday and you couldn't of ask for a more beautiful autumn day. There were a total of 33 family members plus one friend from Germany. This family was patient, funny and very friendly to the two of us taking pictures, since we had camera's pointed at them all the time.

This little girl, Bella, was such a sweetie and full of smiles !
